1 KWV Cafe Culture 2007 3 Stars (3)
I loved the coffee and chocolate taste in the wine, it smelt of brewed coffee in a coffee shop and at the same time either hops or ale that is used in beer. Awesome wine, went very well with lamb chops off the braai. It is great with Bournville chocolate. Always good!!!!
2 Landskroon Merlot 2006 4 Stars (1)
A very strong, flavourful wine. Perfect with a braai.
3 KWV Merlot 2003 4 Stars (1)
The best Merlot I have had so far, it is so smooth and seems so light. It is a wine which can be enjoyed all night.
4 Douglas Green Merlot 2003 4 Stars (1)
I liked this wine very much. It did not taste like a Merlot, it was a lot lighter. It seemed more like a blend, because of the heaviness that is absent. I would definately recommend this wine.
5 Ashton Winery Petillant Blanc 2008 4 Stars (1)
I love this wine! It is a great alternative to a sparkling wine, it is a typical girly drink that can be enjoyed with kingklip or a seafood platter.
6 KWV Merlot 2006 4 Stars (1)
Awesome vintage!! The perfect wine to sit around and just chat. It goes down so well.
7 Two Oceans Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2006 4 Stars (1)
A dry, but light wine with a smooth finish. The perfect blendi especially if you prefer either of the wines but not too fond of it on its own.
8 Hermanuspietersfontein Vineyards Bloos 2008 4 Stars (1)
Light pink, peach mixed colour, that almost looks brown. It smells of tobacco leaves and a light port with a bit of a rubber smell to it. It is not too sweet like an ordinary rose`, it is a bit dry. It tastes like a mix between Champagne and peach archers. It will go well with a Thai Green Curry or a Thandori chicken. I love this wine!!!
9 Mellasat Enigma 2008 4 Stars (2)
A very light champagne colour almost. It also tastes like champagne, with a waxy aftertaste in your mouth. A peach kernel nose and a fruitiness almost like a Hanepoot is present. When mixed with Cream Crackers and Albany chocolate it tastes like hot chocolate. It will go brilliantly with a dorado or red snapper.
10 Woolworths Limited Release Shiraz 2007 4 Stars (1)
It smells of mocca and chocolate that is very prominent as soon as you open the bottle, there is a hint of smoked cheddar to it. It looks dark purple with a cherice pink shine to it. It smells and tastes teriffic, where the mocca doesn`t seem to fade. It is extremely smooth and goes down so well. It will go well with smoked gamon and apple jelly.
11 Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2007 4 Stars (1)
I love this wine. It is so well balanced with a silky texture to it. The more I drink it, the more I love it.
12 Beyerskloof Pinotage Reserve 2007 4 Stars (1)
A lovely wine, and I usually do not like Pinotage.

21 Porcupine Ridge Merlot 2006 3 Stars (1)
A nice merlot, so smooth. It took me a while to drink this wine though, not one of the best ones I have tasted.
22 Savanha Merlot 2006 3 Stars (3)
A nice wine, that is not too strong or too acidic. It went well with our braaied and buttered paprika corn on the cob.
23 Blaauwklippen Agricultural Estate Cabriolet 2001 3 Stars (1)
I quite like this wine.
24 Nederburg Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay Private Bin D253 2005 3 Stars (1)
Very fruity, but just enough. Not too wooded like an ordinary Chardonnay because of the Sauvignon Blanc mix. It is the perfect combination with Philladelpphia cheese and sweet + sour
25 Nederburg Lyric 2005 3 Stars (15)
My first review.
26 Meerlust Estate Rubicon 2000 3 Stars (16)
My first review in mi-vine(m).
27 Monis Wines Muscadel 1992 3 Stars (1)
A rich bouquet of nutty intensity. Love the smell, tastes of raisins and is very sweet.
28 JC le Roux La Vallee‘ 2008 3 Stars (1)
It is light yellow in colour, with just enough sparkles in it. It smells of fruits, but I can`t quite distinguish which fruit, it smells similar to a sauvignon blanc. A lot like preserved peaches. It goes very well with yellow nectarines that adds to its smooth buttery taste. I think it will go well with mangos and gooseberries.
29 Nederburg Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 3 Stars (1)
Very nice wine. Not too heavy at all. It was very well complimented by sour cream kips with philadelphia cream cheese covered in sweet and sour sauce.
30 Nederburg Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay 2006 3 Stars (1)
Very fruity, but just enough. Not too wooded like an ordinary Chardonnay because of the Sauvignon Blanc mix. It is the perfect combination with Philladelpphia cheese and sweet + sour sauce.
31 Robertson Winery Merlot 2006 3 Stars (1)
A great wine that went well with a seafood platter.
32 Theuniskraal Estate Rose 2007 3 Stars (1)
A sweet, but medium wine. A perfectly balanced rose`. It went very well with a barbequed chicken kebabs and greek salad with avos.
33 Springfield Estate Whole Berry Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 3 Stars (1)
A blood red, but somehow light red wine that contains a bit of purple to it. It tastes of dark cherries with a smoothness in its after taste. This is a good wine!
34 Arabella Merlot 2007 3 Stars (1)
This wine tastes a lot like KWV`s Cafe` Culture, it just does not have such a strong moccha taste to it, and is much more smoother. However, this wine seems a bit strong to me. It went well with Woolie`s samoosas and meat balls.
35 Douglas Green St Augustine 2005 3 Stars (1)
A dark red wine with a tint of red. It smells very strong and spicy like a Shiraz. It is an easy drinking wine. I like it a lot.
36 Alto Estate Alto Rouge 2006 4 Stars (2)
An awesome blend that contains enough of each different grape to make it an easy-drinking wine. I would drink this again and again.
37 Boekenhoutskloof Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2007 3 Stars (1)
A nice version of Shiraz, as I am not that fond of it. A very aromatic wine with a smooth finish.
38 Fat Bastard Chardonnay 2008 3 Stars (2)
I quite liked this wine. One of the better Chardonnays I`ve had. Although it`s fruity, it has a bit of a pepper taste to it that balances out the sweet. It went perfect with my Magnum almond ice-cream.
39 Hermanuspietersfontein Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc No 3 2008 4 Stars (2)
Strong bubbly, sauvignon blanc. It has a ligh gassy taste to it with a sweet after taste. It should go well with a bobotie.
40 Hermanuspietersfontein Vineyards Kleinboet 2006 3 Stars (1)
A great wine as is all the other labels of Hermanuspietersfontein. It is definately my kind of wine and it went so well with my fillet covered in roquefort and garlic sauce.
41 Jonkheer Bakenskop Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 3 Stars (1)
A very fruity, berry taste wine. It does not taste like cork. It is an easy drinking wine, which is easy on the palate. It tastes a lot like Old Brown Sherry. It is the perfect combination with cheese, figs and crackers.
42 Kanonkop Estate Kadette 2007 3 Stars (1)
A very pleasant winev that is easy to drink. It does have a bit of a banana after taste like it says on the bottle. This is definately a social wine.
43 Leopards Leap Pinotage Shiraz 2007 3 Stars (1)
Quite a nice Pinotage.
44 Perdeberg Winery Chenin Blanc Reserve 2007 3 Stars (1)
The wine looks like a green, yellow mixture with a golden touch. But, almost a clear yellow. It tastes of dried apricots and very bubbly and fruity. It smells sweet, but a little bit sour. I like this wine as it is easily drinkable.
45 Rickety Bridge Winery Merlot 2005 3 Stars (1)
Nice!
46 Robertson Winery Pinotage 2008 3 Stars (1)
It is nice, however I think it still needs to mature a bit to become an even greater wine.

A great wine, easy to drink. Goes very well with Chinese chicken chop suey and tempura prawns. I can drink this wine all night.
51 Taja Gran Reserva 2001 4 Stars (2)
At first this wine did not taste very nice, it tastes like a very old merlot. It is very bitter with a terrible after taste. It smells of old wet clothes. However, after a while that you drink it you get used to it and it starts to taste better. It would go well with a saucy pepper steak to balance out the wine.
52 Marianne Wine Estate Pinotage 2005 3 Stars (1)
A great styled Pinotage.
53 Diemersfontein Wines Thokozani Shiraz Mourvedre Viognier 2007 3 Stars (1)

64 Overhex Private Cellar Balance Muscat dAlexandrie 2009 3 Stars (1)
Wonderful!
65 Perdeberg Winery Cape Town Carnival Chenin Blanc Sauvignon Blanc 2009 3 Stars (1)
Faint yellow colour that is almost transparent. Notes of gooseberries and ripe pink guavas. It tastes very young and green, it is too sparkly for a white wine. A fruit bouquet that tastes of guava with dry tannins. I think it will go well with roasted corn on the cob that has been soaked in apricot jam and butter coating accompanied by naan bread. Have with a light lunch.
66 Perdeberg Winery Cape Town Carnival Sparkling Rose NV 1 3 Stars (1)
A pink, orange almost smoked salmon colour. Smells of Hanepoot Ceres juice boxes that is sweet and subtle. Overpowering bubblte tastes that are a little dry. I think it would go well with chocolate cake.
67 Boplaas Family Vineyards Tinta Chocolate 2009 3 Stars (1)
Tastes of Bournville chocolate. Really great with a wonderful aftertaste.
68 Mahler Besse Taja Bio Organic 2008 3 Stars (1)
An intense deep red with tints of Cherise pink. It smells of woodchips that has just been cut (sawdust). Notes of sweet plums and berries with cigar box flavours. It tastes sweet with dry tannins, it is not to heavy on the palate. It would go extremely well with Alfresco pasta from Bugatti`s and the Organic Gouda was a great accompaniment to the wine. I would recommend this wine to anyone.
69 Diemersfontein Wines Diemersfontein Shiraz 2008 3 Stars (1)
Great for a Shiraz.
70 Backsberg Cellars Pumphouse Shiraz 2007 3 Stars (1)
Mmm, very nice. Great with cigars.
71 KWV Lifestyle Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 3 Stars (1)
Purple with a red tint, displaying its youth. Smells very nie, you can smell the pepperiness of the Shiraz with the smell of organic witne. It is smooth, oaky and spicy. I think it would go well with lamb roast. I would definitely recommend this wine.

A light, dry finish with a fruity taste. The grape taste is very prominent. A bit too dry for me.
78 Welbedacht Wines Cricket Pitch 2005 2 Stars (1)
A bit too much like a pinotage, something I`m not a fan of.
79 Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel 2006 2 Stars (1)
A very dry champagne, but balanced out well when mixed with orange juice for a Sunday brunch. It went well with bacon, english muffins and frankfurters. It tastes better the longer you drink it.
80 Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2004 2 Stars (1)
The Pinotage is too overpowering. Not according to my taste.
81 Van Loveren River Red 2007 3 Stars (2)
A smooth wine with a nice finish. It is a perfect blend, a lot better than the 2008.
82 Hermanuspietersfontein Vineyards Die Arnoldus 2005 3 Stars (2)
Dark red, but somehow transparent. When mixed with a blue cheese platter and savoury flavours it tastes like Niknacks. It smells of spices. It will go well with a rosemary lamb roast.
83 Hermanuspietersfontein Vineyards Die Martha 2005 2 Stars (1)
Sweet tasting red wine. It has a very bitter taste, which will probably go well with a pepper steak. Definately not for my taste preference.
84 Groenland Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 2 Stars (1)
Not a favourite of mine.
85 Groenland Antoinette Marie 2005 2 Stars (1)
Not such a great wine.

Pretty good for a 2006 Sauvignon Blanc! Notes of woodchips and cedar oak.
87 KWV Chenin Blanc 2007 2 Stars (1)
A light, dry finish with a fruity taste. The grape taste is very prominent. A bit too dry for me.
88 Robertson Winery Chapel Red 2008 2 Stars (1)
Not too bad for a wine blend. I wouldn`t say I would go out and buy it again. It was a bit acidic and needs to even out all its tannins before i would drink another bottle.
89 Warwick Estate Three Cape Ladies 2005 3 Stars (2)
Not my kind of wine.
90 Van Loveren Merlot 2007 2 Stars (1)

91 Durbanville Hills Merlot 2006 2 Stars (1)
92 Overhex Private Cellar Balance Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 2007 2 Stars (1)

This wine does not go down that well, but gets a bit better with each glass.
94 Perdeberg Winery Chenin Blanc 2007 2 Stars (1)
The wine looks like a light, pale yellow champagne with bubbles. It smells fruity, like ripe pink guavas or canned peaches and guavas. It has a overpowering taste that hits the back of your throat with force. You can taste a bit of the guava, but it is also sweet and dry at the same time. I would eat drink this wine with a honey-glazed chicken, although I`m not fond of it.
95 Laborie Cellar Pineau de Laborie 2003 2 Stars (1)
Not too bad in taste, but not that great.
96 Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block 2007 3 Stars (2)
I was disappointed by this wine, it is not as good as everyone made it out to be. I`d rather drink another mocca wine than buy this.
97 Durbanville Hills Rhinofields Reserve Merlot 2006 2 Stars (1)
This wine tasted very watery, I could not make out the flavours, there was just one smell. It did not taste of melons and apples to me. I didn`t really enjoy this wine, and wouldn`t exactly by it for myself.
98 Fish Hoek Merlot 2007 2 Stars (1)
I`m not really fond of this wine, it has an odd taste to it. It takes very long to drink and I would not recommend it.
99 Hermanuspietersfontein Vineyards Swartskaap 2007 3 Stars (3)

100 Mellasat Mellasat M 2004 2 Stars (1)

102 Bushmanspad Red Gold Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 2 Stars (1)

A bit too dry for my liking. However, it seems to get better with time.
104 Santa Alicia Carmenere Reserva 2006 3 Stars (2)
It had a familiar taste, much like the Taja Reserva "03. A deep red wine, like the colour of blood. The taste of an old wine, which is quite bitter.
105 Cape to Cairo Syrah 2007 3 Stars (2)
A very dark red, almost black. It smells of berries and black currants, which seems a bit sweet like strawberries. It smell of a light shiraz, with a bit of a chocolate hint. It`s a light wine, with a white wine texture. It has a creamy, butter taster, which is also bitter towards the end.

112 Welmoed Winery Heyden‘s Courage Red 2007 3 Stars (2)
It is a very dark red wine. It smells strong, somewhat like a Pinotage. It tastes of sour plums, but with a sweet after taste to it. It has a slight choclate hint to it. Went well with cream crackers and Brie.
113 Goudini Wines Pinotage 2008 3 Stars (2)
It has a medium red colour to it, it smells of chocolates and spices. IT tastes sweet to mellow with a peculiar taste that disappears quickly. It does not taste like a Pinotage, which makes me like it. However, it does dry out your mouth and throat, because of the young vintage. It will go well with a peppadew steak with honey-buttered cous-cous. I would leave it to stand for at least a year or to, as it would get better with time.
114 Groot Constantia Estate Blanc de Noir 2009 2 Stars (1)
Smells of candy floss and sweet nose. Really great for a Blanc de Noir, not as dry as you would expect.
115 Barista Pinotage 2009 3 Stars (2)
A bit too young still, the moccha and chocolate notes come across too strong. It would be good to cellar for another year and then drink it.
116 Birkenhead Estate & Brewery Walker Bay Vineyards Shiraz Rose 2009 2 Stars (1)
Fruity, but too dry for me.
117 Diemersfontein Wines Diemersfontein Summer‘s Lease 2008 2 Stars (1)
A bit too bland for me after all the intense mocca tastes.

An old favourite of mine, but much sweeter than I remember it to be. I prefer a rose` that`s a lot drier and less sweet.
119 Jordan Winery Cobblers Hill 2006 2 Stars (1)
Really smooth and light. A European styled blend.
120 Savanha Merlot 2009 2 Stars (1)

121 Eagle‘s Nest Farm Shiraz 2008 4 Stars (2)
Tastes very new agey and smooth with light pepper tones. A nice Shiraz, not overpowered by the strong tastes it usually has.

A nice wine that does not seem too bad, it just isn`t for me.
123 Nederburg FIFA Twenty 10 Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 2 Stars (1)

It looks pitch black, with a bit of a red tint at the top. It smells of marrachino cherries with a smoke or ash-like flavour to it. It is extremely strong, almost like a pepper spray effect to your throat. It makes your head spin right away, because of the high alcohol content. It goes well with smokey cheeses. I would not recommend this wine.
136 Hermanuspietersfontein Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc No 7 2008 1 Stars (1)
Very fruity, but dry wine. It is highly acidic. The grape is too young. It might be better to drink it a year later. It will go well with a tiramisu or berries.

This wine is a bit too strong for my liking, especially the aroma. It tastes more like a heavy Cabarnet or Pinotage than a blend. The aroma is very strong. It makes a nice cooking wine.
141 Taja Reserva 2003 1 Stars (1)
This is a deep ruby read wine, that has an intoxicating smell. It is very strong. II did not like this wine, it was too acidic and had a bitter after taste. It will go well with a pepper or saucy steak to take away the bitterness.

This wine is still too young, it tastes of strong fruit and of dust. I do not like this wine.
143 Chateau Alfa La Bernarde Premieres Cotes De Blaye 2005 1 Stars (1)
A deep red with brown tints at the top. Hints of vanilla and a sweetness, notes of oak that can almost smell of caramel. It has a palate of sweet mulberries, slight hints of only. A bit dry, but with a smooth palate. I think it would go well with crumbed veal and roast veggies (oven roasted in balsamic vinegar and olive oil).

150 D‘Aria Winery Blush 2009 1 Stars (1)
It tastes too much of white grapes, not the unique Rose` taste I am used to.
151 Perdeberg Winery Cape Town Carnival Shiraz Pinotage Viognier 2009 1 Stars (1)
A deep burgundy or maroon colour with hints of purple. A coffee nose, that smells almost like Kahlua coffee, but very faint. Fruit bouquets. It tastes peculiar, quite smoky and smooth. I think it would go well with Beef Stroganoff.
152 Boplaas Family Vineyards Pink Port NV 2009 1 Stars (1)
Too sweet for my liking.
153 Sedgwicks Old Brown Sherry Old Brown Sherry NV 2010 1 Stars (1)
A brown, orange colour with golden hints. Smells of caramalised, sweet smell and with notes of brandy. It tastes of Hanepoot with an intense sweetness, a light and smooth finish. I think it would go well with Salmon or seared tuna.
154 David Frost Signature Series Chenin Blanc 2009 1 Stars (1)
Very fruit and a bit too dry for me. Great with pink marshmallows.
155 Diemersdal Estate Pinotage 2009 1 Stars (1)
Smells of chocolate and moccha, but doesn`t taste too great. Smooth, just not my style of wine.
156 Kleinood Tamboerskloof Shiraz 2006 1 Stars (1)
A bit too dry for my liking.
157 KWV Lifestyle Chenin Blanc Chardonnay 2009 1 Stars (1)
Champagne-like, white colour with tiny bubbles in the mix. Notes of apricot and tiny hints of vanilla. Smells of guava and oak. It tastes very dry, a bit sparkly and makes you clench your cheeks. The aftertaste is of fruit cocktail preserve syrup. I think it will go well with a creamy risotto. I do not really like this wine but it gets better as you drink it. I wouldn`t recommend it.
158 Thelema Mountain Vineyards Sutherland Viognier Rousanne 2009 1 Stars (1)
Tastes a bit dry and too granulated.
159 Eagle‘s Nest Farm The Little Eagle 2008 1 Stars (1)
Too heavy for me.
160 Waterford Estate Pecan Stream Pebble Hill 2008 1 Stars (1)
Not too bad.
