Brandon Marc encourages Joburgers to take trips down to the Cape to visit their favourite wine cellars.

"Yes, of course all wine that is available in Cape Town is available in Joburg, but a Joburg resident cant exactly take a drive to his favourite cellar and throw a case in the boot before heading off home... or could they?"

An article on Enobytes.com talks about this white wine from Piedmont. Do not be intimidated by the name though, apparently its pretty simple to break down and digest.

"Vigneto (meaning a single vineyard) Biancospino is the vineyard, with 25-30 year old vines and sandy soils. Moscato is the grape variety (100% Moscato) and the Denomination is Moscato dAsti (DOCG). Simple, yes?"

Chinese Wine Culture(s): Part I | Friday, 13 February 2009
Enobytes.com features a very interesting article regarding the Chinese Wine Culture.

"I freely admit to being neither a Chinese historian nor a Chinese literature specialist; but its safe to say the wonders of Tang Dynasty poetry would be unimaginable without wine and, further back, whole dictionaries have been devised to explain the types of plants and foodstuffs that appear in the early literature."
