Wine.co.za has a very interesting article about New Zealand winegrowers being advise to be brutal in their selection of grapes for the 2009 harvest.

Apparently they are trying to prohibit a massive oversupply of wine in 2009, which could result in a drop in price as well as a few other negative things.

Australians buying less locally produced wine | Friday, 16 January 2009
An article on Wine.co.za talks about Australians buying 2.2 per cent less locally produced wine than last year.

"In bottled wine sale terms, imports have been making greater penetration, particularly New Zealand sauvignon blanc and that has been predating the sale particularly of Australian chardonnay. So there‘s a fashion issue there I think," Mark McKenzie.
