In an article on VenturaCountyStar it is highlighted that New World countries such as, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Chile are producing fabulous wines.

Albarino, The Other White Grape | Thursday, 20 November 2008
In most parts of the world, Chardonnay is be the most popular white wine, except for in Spain, where Albarino is the signature white.

Albarino! Pronounced "Al-ba-ree-nyo", meaning "the white from Rhine", is as popular to Spain as Chardonnay is to North America."

In Portugal it is produced under the name "Alvarinho" where it is grown almost exclusively in the cool and wet environs of the Rías Baixas region in Galicia.

Brandon Marc explains the difference between a red wine headache and a normal hangover. Nothing has been proven to be the actual cause for it just yet, but there are quite a few theories as to what causes these untimely headaches.

Best SA vintages since 1987 | Thursday, 6 November 2008
According to the Enobytes Vintage Chart from 1987 to 2007, the best South African vintages were 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003. The 1998 vintage scored the highest with 94 points followed by the 2003 vintage with 93 points and the 2000 and 2001 vintages both scoring 91 points. This week Brandon Marc talks about South Africa‘s wine export. Despite the international economic slowdown, Wines of South Africa (WOSA) have reported that over 363 million litres have been sold abroad during only one year.
